About Us ...
For more than 21 years TEN THOUSAND VILLAGES and its predecessor ‘Self Help Crafts’ has had an active presence in Windsor; for several years as part of the ‘Third World Resource Centre’ on Tecumseh Road W.; (opposite the St. Clare of Assisi Church). Then followed nine years when Glenwood United Church hosted the Ten Thousand Villages Festival Sale, just in time for Christmas. The success of this annual three day sale led to the establishment of a full time store on Sandwich Street, sponsored by the Global Resource Centre (formerly the Third World Resource Centre). In 2009 the store relocated to Chilver Road, just around the Wyandotte St. East corner from where the Peerless Ice Cream store (now closed) served their delights for many years; a more central location to better serve its friends and customers throughout the Windsor area.
